i know scalp hair is different from beard hair. i had a beard transplant from my scalp hair which is very straight and not curly or coarse. will this hair eventually look more like my natural beard hair which has a more curly and coarse texture?

If scalp hair was used as donor hair the transplanted hair will take on the same characteristics as scalp hair.If scalp hair was placed on your face (for a beard hair transplant) it will grow out like scalp hair.  It may not match your beard hair.  This should have been explained before you had surgery.

There is a phenomoneon referred to as partial recipient dominance, meaning that the recipient region over time will exert its effects on the donor follicles.  This typically takes 2 years.Beard hair is a little different as DHT actually increases its growth where as in the donor region of your scalp, DHT does not have much of an impact and a negative one in those whom are susciptable to genetic hair loss.

Beard hair takes on some of the recipient area characteristics when it is moved from the scalp to the beard, but some of the scalp character may remain. Everyone is different.
