When is it safe to wax upper lip after rhinoplasty?

I usually wax my upper lip (moustache) hair but I recently had a rhinoplasty and was wondering when it would be safe again for me to wax the hair off. I don't want to risk any damage by waxing!

I would ask your specific surgeon and follow their advice. If you were my patient, I would say four weeks after a closed rhinoplasty and six weeks after an open rhinoplasty. Best of luck

The more gentle you can be in this area, the better, and therefore it would be best to not have it waxed, but to have it threaded.  I'm sure you can find an aesthetician to thread the hairs away, which is equally as effective but puts less pressure on the area and is less abrupt than waxing. Nasal bones that have undergone osteotomies during rhinoplasty will require 1 month for the bones that have been purposefully broken to heal and solidify. During this period any traction/compression to the nose should be avoided.

Dear blushxo, Speak with your surgeon as he/she will know best what exact surgical procedures you had performed during your rhinoplasty. I would also suggest using the aesthetician from your surgeons office or one that they refer you to in order to make sure the waxing is done precisily and carefully.
