I usually wax my upper lip (moustache) hair but I recently had a rhinoplasty and was wondering when it would be safe again for me to wax the hair off. I don't want to risk any damage by waxing!

Answer: Waxing Thank you for the question and it is one I have never had asked before but if you had a closed rhinoplasty and no ala wedges, it should be safe if no pressure is placed on the noseDr Corbin

Answer: Rhinoplasty and Waxing Upper Lip Dear blushxo, Speak with your surgeon as he/she will know best what exact surgical procedures you had performed during your rhinoplasty. I would also suggest using the aesthetician from your surgeons office or one that they refer you to in order to make sure the waxing is done precisily and carefully. I would clear my patients for waxing at three to four weeks if no alar-plasty was performed. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
