I'm 27 yo, 5'6"/126 lbs, but have always had big cheeks. I'm considering a buccal fat reduction or laser lipo. I'm still not sure which procedure would be better for me. On the other hand after reading so many bad things I'm worried. Is BF-removal or laser lipo good option in my particular case?

Answer: A surgical plan for the perfect face Let me start off by sharing one of my favorite expressions: the closer someone looks to perfect, the smaller of a change they need.I think this very much applies to you.Your face is attractive and very well-balanced overall. That does not mean there aren't procedures that could change your look for the better. What it does mean is that any change you undergo has to be done perfectly and cannot be done over-assertively.Anything too assertive can lead to disfigurement.Considering that one of the major goals to treat facial aging is volume restoration, you may put yourself at significant risk for premature aging by having volume reduction in your face.My best recommendation for you is to get a formal assessment by someone who is the very best in their field.Look for someone senior with an exceptional track record and with board certification in plastic surgery.Look for someone who is conservative. If someone tells you to avoid having surgery, then listen to them. There should be a significant amount of skepticism for operating on you. That is because you have close to a perfect face. Please be careful.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
