When can I expect my tight & hard muscles to relax after abdomen & flank laser liposuction?

I suggest speaking to your physician if you are concerned.  But you do have to wait 3-6 months to see the ultimate results.  At this point early on, massage, ultrasound, and radiofrequency treatments help such as velashape or venus legacy.  I also prescribe diruetics to my patients to help with swelling.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The fat often turns firm for a few weeks to sometimes a few months after liposuction.My guess is it's your fat feeling firm and not your muscles.It's also quite common for things to look a little uneven early on.Best thing to do is to follow up with your plastic surgeon and be patient and wait for your final results.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

It is not unusual to have significant bruising and/or swelling following a liposuction.  It may take 3 to 6 weeks or more for everything to settle.  Wearing your compression garment and massage can help speed the process.  Check with your surgeon, if you are truly having a muscle spasm a muscle relaxant can also help.  Best wishes.
