I heard that diced cartilage wrapped In fascia doesn't last because cartilage needs blood supply to be able to remain without breaking down/being reabsorbed. Is this correct? Or would it depend from where the cartilage is harvested? (i.e. the patient's own ear, rib. or septal cartilage, etc). And if so, how long would it last before starting to break down/becomingreabsorbed to a point that would be noticeable? Thank you.
