How soon can I return to my 8hr sitting desk job after BBL?

BBL outcomes are entirely dependent upon graft viability and survival. The greater the survival, the more successful the outcome. These grafts are very pressure sensitive as pressure decreases local blood flow which then potentially compromises the graft take.The recommendations for prolonged sitting/unrelieved pressure will vary from one physician to another. I generally recommend avoiding prolonged sitting for a month or so. Occasional rest periods for sitting using a specialized pillow with escalating frequency and length are progressively integrated as a patient heals.With reference to your specific question, a traditional desk job should be avoided for at least a few weeks. A specialized pressure relief pillow is an absolute. I recommend patients work towards 1 hour total of seated resting per day by the 4 week mark.As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon.

For my patients having a BBL procedure, I recommend that they take 10 to 14 days off of work, three weeks off of cardio at the gym, and six weeks off of weight training and yoga exercises. When you return to work, you can use a BBL pillow to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks. I recommend discussing specific post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Hello and Great Question.  I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure.  My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel.  I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist.
If you have a surgery already scheduled, then the best practice is to check with that surgeon and his/her office to get their specific protocol and follow their specific recovery protocol. 
It is not possible to comment on whether you need or will not need a TT without, at minimum, providing photos with question.

   You may be able to return to a sedentary job within one week, provided you are not putting direct pressure on the buttocks.

I recommend my patients to avoid sitting for the first two weeks after surgery. Then,  a special BBL pillow can be used  for short durations. Consult your surgeon for post op instructions since each surgeon's protocol is slightly different. 

Thank you for your question.It is important to consult with your surgeon about their post-operative instructions, as each surgeon has slightly different post-operative protocols. It should be fine to return to work after two weeks as long as you can refrain from sitting directly on your buttocks for long durations during the first week that you are back. I recommend to my patients that they do not sit on their bottoms for long periods of time for the first three weeks. The first week I do not recommend any sitting or pressure on the buttocks, days 8-14 the patient may sit up to 5 minutes two times per day.  Days 15-21 the patient may sit up to 9 minutes five times a day.  After that point, sitting is fine as long as the patient is comfortable. If you must go back to work, I recommend purchasing a BBL pillow and getting up every 10-15 minutes to walk around until you are at least three weeks post op. I hope this helps.
