I first found Dr Hendricks in 2019 through a recommendation for my specific need for skin and cosmetic care after many consultations with local surgeons near my home in Florida. I immediately was drawn to his passion and knowledge of skin. His bedside manner is unmatched. I knew immediately that Dr Hendricks was the best choice for my needs after my first consultation. I left feeling like he saw my vision, was confident in the potential for great results, and he treated me like a friend, not just a nameless case to add to his portfolio. The surgery was a complete success. In late September 2024 I returned to Dr. Hendricks for a deep plane facelift. I was nervous as I had never had a facial surgery, but was surprised at how simple he made the process. The incisions are hidden in my hair line so they aren’t visible, with one under my chin that was so small it didn’t leave a scar at all. The pain was over all minimal and healing process was pretty fast. I noticed results within weeks that continue to improve still 4 months later. Because of the technique that Dr Hendricks used to pull my skin tight, it was so natural and the results were so gradual that no one noticed that I had a “facelift” but would ask what I was doing to my skin because it looked so good. Most thought I had started Botox treatment, which I have actually never had. Most recently (January 2025) I again traveled back to Dr Hendricks for some skin resurfacing, wrinkle reduction, acne scar treatment, and skin tightening. He suggested a laser treatment called the Clear-lift using the erbium laser. The results from this treatment were immediate. The procedure was nearly painless, a 3/10 at most. It looked and felt like a sunburn but the redness and burn feeling was gone by morning. I looked in the mirror and noticed that my scars were no longer dark or purple in nature. They were my skin tone, much smaller, and nearly invisible. My pores were so small even my esthetician, who knows my skin better than I do, asked what I was using. A week later, he harvested fat from my stomach and injected it into all those places in our face we naturally lose fat with age- the forehead, temples, cheeks, smile lines, and he even added some to my lips to give them a natural, fuller look. The results were exactly what I wanted- firmer tighter skin, erasing the few small lines left after the facelift that usually only filler could fill. This process is more natural and lasts forever. You won’t have to go back every few months to do it again. During this same visit to Newport Beach, he used another device on my outer, inner and back of my thighs that had loose skin and irregularities of the fat from weight loss. This machine uses ultrasound to melt and smooth my fat, then switched to radio frequency to smooth cellulite, reduce my stretch marks, and tightens the skin, all without the use of liposuction or anesthesia. This process is virtually pain free and the melted fat is just passed through the lymphatic system with time. This process also delivered immediate changes and results that have continued to improve with time. After arriving back home from this most recent “Spa Trip” ( which I called it since it was more relaxing than painful), my first appointment with someone I typically see on a weekly basis said, “I’m sorry if I was staring at you when you first walked in but you look so good. You look like you’re 29 again!” This was just 2 weeks after my treatment. I found this funny because I told Dr Hendricks that I wanted him to use whatever lasers that would make me look like I was not a single day over 30! So well done, sir. Mission accomplished! I plan on returning for several more laser treatments on my other problem areas. I’m in my 40’s and have never felt as confident in my body as I do now since meeting Dr. Hendricks just 6 years ago. I trust him completely. I highly recommend Dr Hendricks, whether you live in Southern California or on the east coast as I do. It’s worth the trip no matter where you are. He’ll help you become the best "you" that you can possibly be and quite possibly you’ll leave with a "new best friend"!
I found Dr. Hendricks for his specialized mole removal procedure, and I could not be happier. Pesky moles that I have disliked for years are finally gone without scaring. The procedure itself was efficient and minimally painful - comparable to a laser facial sensation. Marci made scheduling and aftercare questions a breeze with her friendly service.
I was an out of state patient and Dr. Hendricks and his team were so accommodating to make it thorough and convenient for me to travel, have my procedure, and then conduct all the followup appointments online. My surgery was a huge success, as well! I not only was looking for 100% functionality of my calf, but also aesthetic improvement and symmetry. Within the first five days I was mobile without any assistance or crutches or heel wedges. Within 10 days I was walking up a hill at a ski resort. And by three months was trekking over 11.5 miles with a 4000ft elevation gain with absolutely no side effects, swelling, pain or bruising. Phenomenal job. I have been going to Dr Hendricks for the past 6+ years and have used him for many cosmetics enhancing procedures, including, facial skin laser, botox, liposuction, cheek lift and most recently an eye lid (skin removal) procedure. Calf augmentation surgery was always appealing given the size of my lower-legs. Throughout my life, I struggled to grow my calves (despite countless hours in the gym), which was frustrating. I was generally embarrassed by the lack of size in this area. Having the courage to consult Dr. Hendricks was difficult initially. However, he made the process less intimidating. Phenomenal Physician! I cannot recommend him highly enough! I had liposuction of the abdomen and back (including the hips and flanks) and was in THE BEST CARE. Dr. Hendricks was not only thorough prior to the procedure but his follow up and knowledge post op have been amazing. Therefore, I know my actual procedure was thorough and detailed. Dr. Hendricks let me know everything I was going to experience and took precautions to my individual needs. The strongest medication for pain I took after my surgery has been Tylenol. Not to mention he is one of the kindest people I've met and has an unparalleled bedside manner. I would agree with many of the other comments below. One treatment that I have been impressed with is a variation of the use of the Smartlipo laser. This has typically been used to "melt fat" before removal with liposuction. I have some personal experience with recently performing a breast augmentation for someone with a patient story very similar to yours. Before I get to that I want to thank you for your question about recovery after breast augmentation. I presume that you are simply wanting a volume increase and do not require a breast lift for excess skin. Should you only need augmentation without lifting and were asking for a modest enhancement, you are in the best category to have the easiest, most comfortable recovery of just about any group of patients. I first need to say that everyone is different in their speed of recovery and there are many factors that influence that. These include size of the enhancement desired (larger breast enhancement typically will have a greater degree of discomfort than having a smaller volume enhancement). What does science say the answer is to this question.Interestingly there is a study from the physical therapy literature that measured the strength of the upper body in women before and following breast enhancement surgery. The surprising conclusion found that after approximate three weeks women were able to perform exercises with similar, and in some cases even greater strength compared to before their breast enhancement surgery! This finding seemed difficult for me to understand because the pectoral muscle is released slightly from the chest wall to prevent too much compression on the lower part of the breast implant. That should make that muscle slightly weaker.there is a small amount of the chest muscle which is released so that it can accommodate an implant placed under the lower edge of the pectoralis muscle. This would theoretically cause the pectoralis muscle to be slightly weaker yet this study showed the opposite. My clinical experience has shown that the study is fairly accurate with regard to the length or duration of time needed before strength and movement is similar to the preoperative state. With regard to preventing anyone at your work from recognizing that you have had breast enhancement, I would offer you this trick that my patient, the phys ed teacher, told me worked very well. She told me that for several weeks before the surgery she would place increasing amounts of socks or handkerchiefs inside of her bra so that over several weeks her chest became increasingly enhanced but at such a slow rate that no one really noticed. Therefore when she returned from her short few days off of work following her actual surgery, her chest size appeared no different than it was before she took time off. No one suspected a thing. I thought it was quite clever for her to conceive of such a great plan for keeping her personal business to herself, and so that she could avoid answering those sometimes embarrassing questions or disapproving or sometimes even envious glances. Best of luck with your surgery and I have all the confidence in the world you are will have a very rapid recovery and a beautiful enhancement.
First, I would say that it is really difficult to tell what the doctor or office manager was thinking when they chose a pricing strategy. As we all know, there are outliers of price on both ends from extremely low to ridiculously high. SO my comments are directed to deciding about if a price range in-between those two extremes is an important factor in that decision.It really comes down to your feelings of trust and security for the doctor. To put it into a question.. is that person truly committed to seeking out and applying the most up-to-date knowledge, techniques, methods and instrumentation that have been clinical demonstrated to result in the lowest risk as well as the greatest opportunity for a problem-free recovery and an outstanding result? This is the type of commitment that requires constant study and learning, keeping up with the sciences of surgery, anesthesia, health and well being. It requires attending long meetings in far-away places to keep pace with the advances that are continuously uncovered, revealing the parts of the operation that they learned in their training that enhance the result and reduce the risks, and the parts of the operation that they were taught that may not promote a speedy recovery or even may increase the risk of any one of the potential complications that can occur. It sometimes even requires throwing away the old method and learning and refining something completely new. This takes tremendous effort and is not always easy for someone to agree to changing methods they were taught for methods that are BETTER. The physician that I have described that has agreed to apply this same knowledge and finely tuned skill to perform your surgery is the one I want caring for me or my family in any medical situation. If you have that doctor as your surgeon, the cost is unimportant. Simply said, when one person charges less for a surgical procedure and one charges slightly more for doing the same operation, it would be reasonable to assume that the doctor charging less is going to provide less that the one who's charges are higher. And providing less could be the difference between a stormy complicated outcome and a smooth uneventful outcome.
From the photos, It seems pretty clear that there is no "Hole" but an indented scar. A hole implies wound separation, and although not impossible, would be unlikely for both incisions to have completely separated and opened up. Especially unlikely if you have no drainage or fluid coming from the are of the incisions.It's likely that your doctor sutured the tissue down to the ribs or the tissue beneath to prevent the implant and or the fold from drifting downward Please make sure your surgeon is aware and contact him/her right away if you notice anything change.A simple scar revision in the office may be in your future which should help to make everything flatten out nicely.
... so I can not comment on the Newer version of Thermage except to say I owned version 1 and I gave it up because I could not tell which photo was before and which photo was after. I saw very little difference and it was extremely uncomfortable for patients. Now all skin is not the same and it is difficult to say how much response could be expected for a particular treatment. As mentioned in the other responses there are many tools that are reported to work to tighten loose skin. I con only comment on my experience with using Smartlipo for skin tightening. I discovered 11 years ago the power of the laser to tighten the skin. As the machines got more powerful so did the tightening effect. I use the laser after the liposuction has cleared away all of the fat which allows all of the laser energy to be used to the underside of the skin.This works so well that I have not had to snip away loose skin in over 10 years. In fact, there are at least 4 articles published in the plastic surgery literature which document the lasers ability to tighten skin. Without knowing your situation, I would have to say there is nothing available today that comes close to what Smartlipo laser in the right hands can do for tightening skin.
