How do I remove a small Cherry Angioma on my face when radio frequency and IPL didn't work? (Photo)

Cherry angiomas are a collection of benign blood vessels in a circular or dot like appearance. One of the best treatments for these types of blemishes is treatment with an Nd:YAG laser meant to treat veins. Immediately post treatment these can change color temporarily while they heal, varying from black, brown, to purple. Depending on the size of the area treated 2-3 sessions are necessary. In most cases they will fade away or reduce in appearance.

this is pretty straight forward, see a laser specialist. this can be improved with vascular lasers and desiccation. start aerify peels and/or vivatia foam to help reduce these from coming. Best, Dr. Emer.

Treating cherry angiomas is a straightforward laser procedure that I commonly perform in my office. Surgery is usually not required since laser treatment is noninvasive and effective. Make sure you see a an experienced dermatologist who specializes in lasers.

Why don’t you go to a plastic surgeon and have it excised.

Perhaps your dermatologist didn’t have the experience needed.

Hi there,

I think your Dermatologist can cauterize using the epilating needle. It really should not be that difficult.
Also the Cutera EXCEL V laser. Either treatment may take a few times but should be successful.

These are actually very easy to remove. Radiofrequency Devices and IPL, however, will not do so. You need an electrical cautery of some type to cauterize the lesion and the vessels leading into it. The classic device is a Hyfrecator, one that completes the circuit with a very high resistance through the body and floor back to the machine rather than through a return electrode. Machines that use the latter technology are probably more common in plastic surgery offices as they are used in regular surgery done in the office. You will have a small crust from either that will resolve oner about a week.
