Dr. Tzu is an expert in her field, she is innovative and a perfectionist at acne scar revision. I have deep rolling scars which she has been treating with subcision and microneedling. She thoroughly explained her technique and has a wonderful bedside manner, and her results speak for themselves. I am so pleased with my glowing healthy skin and cannot recommend her highly enough. She is the only doctor I’ll ever trust with my face and I wish I had found her sooner!
My experience at Dr. Tzu's office and staff was excellent and my procedure went extremely well. I had some botox and fillers injected to improve my facial lines and I am impressed with the natural looking results so far. The procedure was quick and painless and I could see the improvement almost immediately. I'll probably be back for another procedure soon!
Dr. Tzu is an amazingly talented dermatologist . She removed several brown spots and moles on my face, and my complexion is now completely clear. I couldn’t even see any scars from the treatment. I couldn’t be happier and feel more confident about my appearance now. I wish I had done this treatment earlier.
Dr Tsu is truly an acne scar treatment specialist. I received a subscission with filler treatment on the moderate rolling scars and overall bad texture on both cheeks and sides of chin. I have combined this treatment with regular derma rolling and TCA peels and have results I never in a million years would have dreamed possible. It has taken me about two years to get where I am now but well worth it. I hardly notice my scars anymore unless I'm in the worst shadow lighting imaginable. Go see dr Tsu, she's a perfectionist- took a solid hour to make sure she subsized every single scar. Total cost was $1000 and I only had to do it once. Bruising lasted over two weeks though. She's incredibly thorough and creates the right amount of damage to be effective.
I had a really negative experience with Dr. Tzu for treatment of an acne scar. After waiting nearly an hour after my appointment time to be seen, Dr. Tzu came into the consultation room with a terrible, hacking cough. Thankfully we were both wearing masks, but it was the kind of cough that, if you encountered her on the subway, you’d switch cars at the next stop. At one point she started coughing so much she had to excuse herself from the room for five minutes. I found this completely unprofessional and disgusting! She’s a doctor for Christ’s sake! If you’re sick, stay home. I wish the negative experience ended there. But Dr. Tzu has the bedside manner of an elementary school nurse who thinks you’re faking it to get out of gym. “Friendly,” “gentle,” and “attentive” are not words that come to mind. I ultimately opted for an $800 laser treatment for the scar (on top of the $300 “consult fee” which does not apply to treatments, as seems to be standard practice for most NYC dermatologists). She warned I would bruise for 1-2 weeks. After the treatment she goes “Oh wow, it actually might be more like 3-4 weeks.” Great, a month with a big bruise on my forehead. She then asks, accusingly “do you bruise easily or something?” as though I were the one who recommended the treatment. So cold and abrasive. She gave me an icepack to hold against the area for 15 minutes. After 25 minutes passed without her returning to the room, I got up and walked out, where I found her huddled around a desk as if she had completely forgotten about me. Overall, it was a very bad experience. From cost, to bedside manner, to overall satisfaction from the treatment (minimal, given I’m still bruised a month later), I cannot recommend Dr. Tzu.
I like using Polidocanol solution for sclerotherapy because of a combination of its safety and patient tolerability profile. This is probably the most expensive sclerotherapy agent due its quality over other agents, so may also result in increased cost of the procedure.
While both Coolsculpting and Kybella require multiple sessions for optimal results, kybella injections are great for submental fat because of its noninvasive simplicity and the quickness of the procedure. I prefer to use Kybella for more delicate areas of the body like the neck.
Generally speaking, skin cancers diagnosed on functionally and cosmetically sensitive areas such as the face, scalp, neck, genitals, tibia, and dorsal hands qualify for Mohs surgery for treatment. Mohs surgery is desirable in these areas because it results in less unnecessary skin removal, thereby resulting in a smaller scar, and also results in higher cure rates. While plastic surgeons can also excise skin cancers, most are not trained in Mohs surgery and therefore do not perform Mohs surgery. Mohs surgery is typically performed by dermatologists who complete advanced fellowship training in Mohs surgery.
Treating cherry angiomas is a straightforward laser procedure that I commonly perform in my office. Surgery is usually not required since laser treatment is noninvasive and effective. Make sure you see a an experienced dermatologist who specializes in lasers.
A well performed surgical scar revision will be the most definitive solution to your concern. The quality of the surgical scar revision is highly dependent on who does your surgery. I recommend seeing a qualified dermatologic surgeon who is experienced with surgical scar revision. While other viable options include microneedling, laser resurfacing, and subcision, these other procedures will take multiple sessions (and potentially cost more cumulatively) and may not provide as definitive of a global improvement as an expertly performed surgical scar revision.
