I had a mole removed 3 months ago. I don't care to much about scaring. I would just prefer to not have a crater on my face.
Answer: Recommend doing a light CO2 laser to even out skin texture Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Nose scar Hello,Although your scar is challenging due to location and depth, the correct laser technology would offer nice improvement. In our practice, we utilize the Sciton ProFractional (deep fractionated and MicroLaserPeel) to "knock down" the edges of the scar perimeter while replacing scar tissue with new, healthy skin/tissue absent of the scar tissue. Although the technology is sophisticated, it's the body's reaction to the this type of treatment that is most impressive.Lastly, the end goal is not a resolution of disappearance of the scar as this is unrealistic. A good expected outcome is one of "improvement." We think you will have nice improvement with the right technology and protocols.

Answer: Facial scar Thank you for your photos. You have several options to improve the apperance of your scar. One option is to trade the round crater scar for a linear scar. This would require a surgical excision of the scar and carefully design the new incision to hide within you normal crease. Another option is to release the scar and to fill the area with filler. Finally, you can use microneedling which manually creates thousands of channels within the collagen of the scar to promote your own collage to fill in the area and to smooth out the heaped borders. It is best to have an in-office evaluation to determine which treatment options will give you the best and safest results. Hope this helps!!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery
