Im 27 and feel as though my face gives me an angry bulldog look, looks like sagging in the cheek and jowl area, and ages me. While I have always had chubbier cheeks, I feel like they've started to sag and I want to achieve a flush and smooth transition from cheek to chin and along the jawline as much as possible. Would buccal fat removal be the way to go, or would that create more potential for accentuated jowls? Especially over time and with age. Should I address the issue with something else?
Answer: Buccal Pad Thanks for your question and Pictures The buccal fat pad is a rounded mass of fat in the middle of your cheek. It’s located between facial muscles, in the hollow area beneath your cheekbone. The size of your buccal fat pads affects your face shape. Everyone has buccal fat pads. However, the size of buccal fat pads can vary greatly. If you have larger buccal fat pads, you might feel like your face is too round or full. You can be a candidate for a Buccal Pad removal surgery. Best of Luck

Answer: Bulldog Appearance Thanks for the nice question and description. If you can send or upload a side picture we can determine your chin balance. Soft tissues of the face rest on the bony structure below and if the chin is too far behind the lower lip this is inadequate and we refer to this as a weak chin. Buccal Fat Removal combined with a chin implant or chin filler can really improve the bulldog appearance you have described. In your case I would first assess the images carefully and the other thing you may consider is filler along the zyogmatic arch to again enhance the architecture and restore the facial proportions.
