Question

I've been in a really bad car accident 5 month ago , which left me with ugly scars on my hand from glass cut. I don't think it's going away I also have one on my back which I injected with cortisone to flatten it but I think it came back . I've also tried some pixel laser on my back but it was 350$ for a session and I didn't see no difference cuz they said I need to do like 5-6. Any working options to make my scars at least not red ?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

There are many scar treatments available including lasers, steroid injections, and over the counter silicone sheets.  Typically surgical scar revisions are not performed for at least a year to allow scars to mature.  I encourage you to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss what is recommended based on the appearance, location, and nature of your scars.
