Hello im 2months post op. I had droppy big tip and hump before surgery. I liked my nose when the cast was off but after that it got really big and lost definition. I dont think its swelling because i havent seen any difference in 2 months. My nostrils show too much from side view you can even see my nose hair(my surgeon really pointed ouut my hanging columella before surgery so i dont think he didnt fix it) maybe something went wrong? like suture broke or scar tissue is developing? Thank you.
Answer: 2 months post-op Dear Lilla28, It is still early in your healing process to tell how your nose will turn out. There is still a lot of swelling two months post-op.If you have concerns, please bring them up to your surgeon so they can guide you.It can take 6-12 months to fully heal from a rhinoplasty, even longer for a revision rhinoplasty, so patience is key.Best regards,Nima Shemirani

Answer: Nostrils show too much Thank you for the question! It is rather difficult to fully assess your situation without an in-person exam. That being said, it's not at all uncommon to have swelling at 2 months post-op. It may take 6 to 12 months to resolve completely. In the meantime, you will not be able to observe final results. I'd say give it some time for your nose to settle, if your swelling persists, consult with your plastic surgeon. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon would be the best way to assess your needs and guarantee a reliable medical advice. Best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty results, swelling and tip rotation Hello and thanks for the question.Swelling may persist after rhinoplasty for up to a year or so. It is still relatively early in your experience for one to judge whether your tip has been "overrotated" or is just still subject to some swelling of the soft tissues. An overrotated tip can sometimes be corrected by releasing the lower cartilages from the uppers.

Answer: Only time will tell Thank you for the question and photos. At two months it is still early to know what the final result will be especially with regard to your nostril size and position. Depending on what was done, the nostrils may relax with time or they may not. You will be served well to wait at least another 4 months before you can judge your own results. If your nostrils do not improve with time, alar rim grafts can help push the nostril rims down to decrease the amount of nostril show on side view. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta

Answer: Nostril show This is a common mistake made following rhinoplasty; since you have nostril show to begin with, precautions should have been taken intraop to not expose any more nostril. At this point, you can improve your nasal appearance by using alar contour grafts and a possible V to Y mucosal flap to close off your nostrils.
