Is my nose too upturned? (Photo)

Question

People say I have a cute nose but I feel it looks too upturned and my nostrils are too visible. I have to take pictures from an above angle so you don't see up my nose. But I don't want to get a nose job and ruin my face. Would it benefit me? Could it help lengthen my nose and look better or is it better dealing to leave it alone? If I could take a nose off someone face and put it on mine it would be like the girls in the last three pics but I don't even know if that would suit me or my face.

From a side view we usually like for the nasolabial angle to be 95 to 105 degrees. Your angle looks a little higher than that but ultimately that's ok. First, to surgically bring it down is to complicated. The risk benefit ratio is not good. Second, an upturned nose always looks more feminine and youthful. Third, as you age your nasal tip will drop, guaranteed.

I think your nose looks fine me and is certainly not too upturned.  Don't let anyone talk you into trying to lengthen your tip.  It is difficult to achieve and you don't need it anyway.

Thank you for your question and sending images. While it is impossible to give an exact diagnosis and plan from just photos, it does appear that your nose rotation (amount that your nose is turned up) is at the upper range of normal. That said, it does not appear to be over-rotated. As others have said here, an upturned nose is youthful and with age will lose rotation. While I would not recommend completely against surgery, it is something you should approach with caution and research.If you are committed to exploring your options, I would recommend consulting with a board certified facial plastic surgeon who regularly performs cosmetic rhinoplasty.

A rhinoplasty to lengthen your nose slightly would be indicated since it is slightly foreshortened.  This would require slight dorsal reduction as well and tip length reduction so it ends up proportional.  This however is an advanced surgical maneuver so go to an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.

Thank you for you question and pictures.  The pictures do show that your nose is slightly shorter than average, but it is mild.  The key finding is the angle that is formed between the bottom of your nose and your upper lip.  If I were you, I would be very cautious about having a rhinoplasty.  Lengthening a nose is not necessarily one of the easier things to achieve.  Your nose is overall attractive, you might want to leave it alone.  If you are really motivated, make sure you see a Board Certified surgeon with a lot of rhinoplasty experience that is honest with you about the challenge.

You are a cute lady and I think it is not likely that a rhinoplasty will advantage you.  Having a nose job would not ruin your face, but it is a matter of whether or not it is a worthwhile expedition.  Your nose does not look too tall, too long or too short.  The nostrils look good.  The tip is nicely proportioned.  The bridge looks fine.  All the checkpoints look okay, so my recommendation would be not to do anything.  Not everyone should have a rhinoplasty, only when needed.

You do provide one good side view showing the angle of rotation or length of your nose.  Actually the angles and distances are within normal limits.  Your small chin probably contributes the optical illusion of the tip of your nose being turned up.  
A chin implant could help some with that optical illusion.  Still, if you continue to be by the show of your nostrils in front view and remain self conscious Rhinoplasty is a viable option.  There are now reliable means of lengthening a nose which means turning the tip down.  Video imaging is a great tool to give the patient somewhat of a preview of what can be accomplished.  
The 3 photos you provided are at various angles that don't actually indicate how rotated the nose is.  I would focus on your own photos and video imaging in making your decision.

From the side profile, it appears proportional, but from the front profile the nostrils are visible. A conservative closed rhinoplasty can accomplish slight de-rotation of the tip a few millimeters to try to accomplish reduction of the nostril show. Rhinoplasty is a very difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon very wisely based on extensive experience. Your nose does appear slightly short but your height should also be considered. It would be more of a problem if you were 6' tall rather than 5'. While your nose can be lengthened but I would not recommend this because it is an invasive procedure and the rest of your nose looks very good. I suggest you consider a chin augmentation which would improve your profile and balance in the lower part of your face.
