What are some natural ways to tighten skin on the abdomen without a Tummy Tuck???

A lot of doctors told me I need a tummy tuck but I don't wanna go under the knife under any circumstances, i know there has to be things I can do besides going under the knife.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

There are no good non surgical alternatives to a tummy tuck. If you have loose skin and stretch marks of your lower abdomen, a tummy tuck is the best way to improve your contour. Non surgical methods, such as Thermage, do not work very well. If you are concerned about the scar of a tummy tuck or the anesthesia, then a tummy tuck may not be right for you. It's hard to say for certain without seeing a photo, so consult with a few experienced plastic surgeons to be sure.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

There are skin tightening machines that some doctors may try on you, but they don't work and are a waste of money.  I can appreciate that you are reluctant to have surgery,  but non-surgical options simply don't work.

Non -surgical skin tightening could be used in certain cases in patients who do not want a tummy tuck. However, the gold standard to remove excess skin will always remains surgery.

Yes skin tightening CAN be done with Radiofrequency such as ThermiTight.  However it depends on the amount of lose skin you have and your expectations.  Going to a board certified plastic surgeon who performs abdominoplasty as well as Radiofrequency such as ThermiTight would probably give you some excellent information.  Best to you.

Up until recently surgery has proved to be the mainstay treatment for abdominal skin laxity.  We are currently using the In-mode radiofrequency system which helps to tighten skin in various ways.  There are numerous modalities which help to heat the underlying tissues to 43 C and subsequently there is skin and dermal tightening.  The results are positive and most importantly the patients are happy with the non-surgical results.  You may look up BodyFX, Forma Plus as two methods of skin tightening without the scars or pain of surgery.

Hello Rosetta, Unfortunately the effectiveness of natural treatments for skin tightening as far as I am aware has not been substantiated. Things which contribute to good skin tone/elasticity include never smoking, avoiding sun exposure, keeping hydrated, applying moisturizer to the skin and possibly massage combined with a healthy diet and exercise all play a part. Medical/minimally invasive methods for skin tightening of the abdomen without a tummy tuck have improved over the last several years, although there are no magic bullets. Coolsculpt which freezes the fat has shown mild to moderate tightening of the skin along with its primary purpose of reduction of fatty tissue. Other non-invasive methods include thermage, whereas minimally invasive methods of Thermitight which heats up the skin, or laser liposuction (Slimlaser) has also been shown to tighten the skin. There are few techniques that have the power to tighten loose
skin without a surgical procedure. Diet and exercise can certainly help with
reducing the percentage of fat and core exercise can build muscle and provide
better definition. The problem is that if you have significant excess skin this
is unlikely to tighten. In addition, some people have a separation of the
abdominal muscles (often but not always related to pregnancy) that give the
person less well defined stomach. There has been some work using radiofrequency
(RF) devices and more recently microfocused ultrasound. These techniques are
thought to heat the dermis and stimulate neocollagenesis and elastin remodeling
(which can lead to skin tightening). There are some recent studies that have
demonstrated some benefit to these techniques but the results likely depend on
how loose the skin is pre-treatment.

If you don't want surgery then you certainly don't need to get it. But there is absolutely nothing short of surgery that will get even 5-10% of the tightening achieved by the abdominoplasty procedure.
