Mole removal recovery/downtime.Can I use silicone gel sheeting?? (photos)

Hi I'm in the midst of getting my mole removed by laser. I have to come back every two weeks for sessions. I was wondering if it was ok to use silicone gel to help with the redness/scarring? How is it looking so far by the way??? I'm very anxious so any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This looks like it is still healing and they removed a significant amount of skin.  I suggest proper wound care at this time with silicone based scar gels and growth factors.  Best, Dr. Emer.

This looks like it is healing , it may have opened and will heal on its own over time.  Silicone based scar gels with growth factors would work best.  Dr. Emer.

This would have to be surgically removed to get full improvement, although lasers can be tried you will still be left with a spot in its place.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.  Any new pigmented skin lesion should have an in-person evaluation by either your dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
