Can minor hits/hits by objects with not much weight change the nose shape/distort it/cause a dorsal hump/deviated septum?

Question

As mentioned in the question can minor hits such as touching my nose/minor slaps by a baby to the tip,cartiliage,bone area/coats,jeans,other clothing thrown at the nose and hit it/people touching my nose/nose touches certain objects.Can these cause any result mentioned in the question such as a dorsal hump?Im scared to kiss my wife because our noses are touching when we kiss. Obviously no swelling or pain is caused by these hits i mentioned above but i can definitely feel my nose getting hit.

It doesn't sound like any of the type of contact to your nose you have experience would be sufficient to cause any damage.  If you got significant damage, it would be pretty painful.  Hope this helps.

Your nose is built to absorb a lot of impact and small bumps and hits will not change its shape. If that were the case, it should be even easier to correct it simply by pushing or molding it. The minor hits that you're talking about cannot break the nose. It takes a lot of force to physically break the nasal bones and displace them.

Dear Jayceonshane, The normal activities that happen in daily life, including kissing, laundry mishaps, babies arms, etc are not a concern for hurting your nose. Breaking the nose with a hard impact can cause a deviated septum however the dorsal hump is your genetic nasal anatomy. If your nose appearance bothers you this can be addressed with rhinoplasty surgery. During the recovery period you would want to be careful of your nose and protect it from bumps for the first few months of healing. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
