Do I have a saddle nose deformity as a result of my septo/rhinoplasty done in October 2017?

Question

My nose now whistles when I breathe from my right nostril (the deviated side pre op) and the appearance of my nose appears off, especially from the side and front? Can it be corrected? I would like a higher dorsum. Should my original surgeon correct it? I will meet him for the first time post op on July 13th (9 months out) I’m extremely nervous and don’t know how he will react to my concerns? Am I only one who sees it? Please help!

If you can live with your breathing, you may consider a permanent nonsurgical nosejob to raise the top of your bridge. Our practice philosophy would be to reserve a more difficult revision rhinoplasty as a last resort. Let us know what your surgeon says. Wishing you well. Dr Joseph

Thanks for your question. From this angle, it's tough to say if you have a saddle nose, but if you do, it's not a bad one. The whistling is definitely an issue, but your doc should be able to figure out what's going on. It is possible to raise a dorsum non-surgically, but if you're having breathing issues than surgery will probably be your best bet. Definitely meet with your surgeon and see what they say. They should be able to give you an honest opinion on whether any treatment is worth pursuing and if they would feel comfortable doing it.For more on saddle noses, check out the link to my blog post!
