Is there a maximum number of coolsculpting procedures you can do to one area? Such as these cool mini?

If you like the results thus far and still have enough tissue to allow the applicator to attach then it is ok. Please remember that it can take up to 90 days to see full results so perhaps make sure you are waiting for full results before doing another. Initially Zeltiq only recommended directly under the chin but recently educated our team that the applicator can be moved slightly to the lateral area so perhaps see if this is an option for you. In short, there is no documented contraindications to multiple treatments if spaced out and there is enough tissue from the data currently available.

 For optimal results, 2 treatments are generally required. The treatments are separated by 4-6 weeks. Treatments are planned using templates of the CoolMini applicator. For fat localized to the sub mental chin, a single applicator per session may be required.  If there is significant fat more laterally in the neck, 2 or 3 overlapping applicators may be required to produce the optimal result.  We also offer Kybella and often use the two to develop customized a non-invasive alternative to surgical options. I would visit with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who offers all these options to discuss what is best for you.

There is no maximum number of coolsculpting treatments that can be performed in an area, each treatment gives you about a 20% reduction of fat and most people require at least 2 treatments per area. Some people may benefit for more than 2 treatments but make sure you give the area enough time to see full results so you aren't wasting your time or money, you may want to save it for another body area.

CoolSculpting often requires multiple applicators to be used to get contouring and a few treatments. If the fat is there, you should receive about a 20%-25% fat reduction per treatment. Best, Dr. Emer

There is not a maximum number of CoolSculpting treatments that can be done to one area, such as under the chin with the cool mini.  As long as there is some remaining fat, the area can be treated again.  Further fat reduction should be seen with each subsequent treatment.  So, if you have seen some improvement after 2 treatments and you still have some remaining fat, you should see more improvement if you were treated again.  

There is no limit on the number of CoolSculpting treatments that may be performed in a particular area; however, it is essential that there be residual fat and that said subcutaneous fat can be drawn into the CoolSculpting applicator. With regard to the CoolMini, it is recommended that you have two treatments approximately 4-8 weeks apart, then wait up to 90 days to observe the full effects of those treatments. You may have additional treatments if fat persists, and we have seen promising results with many of our patients who have desired further contouring of areas beyond an initial two procedures.
It is important that you meet with your physician to evaluate the area and determine whether additional CoolSculpting treatments are optimal for you. There are many contouring procedures available and an in-person consultation (even after two CoolSculpting treatments) will help your provider understand the best avenue for attacking those remaining pockets of fat.

As long as there is residual fat, repeat treatments can be performed. We recommend two treatments initially about 4-6 weeks apart. Then wait 3 months and if fat persists repeat the procedure. We use two slightly lateral placements in those with a wider accumulation of fat so our first series may include 4 treatment areas at the above intervals. We have used multiple treatments in other areas with persistent fat, getting amazing results in most. However in some patients there may be a residual amount of fat that seems to be resistant to freezing despite repeated treatments. As long as you can draw additional subcutaneous fat into the CoolMini applicator, you will continue getting more reduction of the fat in the area treated. Initially, Zeltiq's recommended protocol for submental fat (double chin) was two treatments in the central area at 30-60 day intervals. We are now treating the areas further laterally in patients whose anatomy allows it, with some extra overlap to the center area. This can prevent the central divot that can result from only treating the middle area in a fatter neck.

treat the “double-chin” area works great; I am happy to hear you are getting
such a good result! In terms the amount of treatments per area, there is no
maximum, whether you are treating the chin or body. However, there does need to
be enough fat to fit into the applicator, or attachment/treatment will not be
possible. If you reach a point where you would still like
more improvement, however do not have enough fat to fit into the CoolMini
applicator, you may want to look into Kybella, an injection specifically
developed to dissolve fat under the chin. Physicians may customize treatments, injecting
as little or as much product needed into the targeted area, therefore there is no
minimum or maximum amount of fat involved. I often treat patients first with
the CoolMini, followed by Kybella injections to fine-tune results. If you are
