How long is the buccal fat removal procedure?

Hello. I read that you can remove the buccal fat on each side for 5 minutes, is that true? Also, how big is the incision? Thanks!

Buccal fat excision is a fairly quick procedure.  To allow time for preparation and anesthesia, the whole procedure takes approximately one hour. 
The recovery time after buccal fat excision is rather quick. After the procedure, you will have a few stitches from the small incisions made on the inside of the mouth.  You will need to eat a soft diet for 3 to 4 days. There will be some swelling present in the face after the surgery. The swelling is typically moderate and will slowly resolve over a few weeks.

Buccal fat removal when performed under local anesthesia takes under 10 minutes to be performed.The procedure itself takes about 10 minutes, but the surgeon should allow the local anesthesia to work for at least 10 to 15 min before performing the procedure to make sure the numbing medication has full effect.
