Would liposuction be the best to reduce my waist size by a couple of inches- maybe 2/3? I have been waist training (lightly) for the past year. I know there are more drastic surgeries that are not recommended (rib removal, expensive and illegal alien the US). I also considered a BBL to give more width to my hips. Thank you!

Answer: Asymmetry, the treatment of asymmetry and waist reduction To start with your asymmetry it's very mild and is what I would consider normal. Everyone is a symmetrical. Are internal structures are asymmetric. You have two lung lobes and a heart on the left side and three long loeb's without the heart on the right side. In your abdomen you have them deliver on the right side of the spleen on the left side etc. etc. Most patient have 1/2 of their torso substantially larger than the other. This is also true for the extremities. And right-handed people the right arm it's often larger than the left. In the same person the left fire is often larger than the right. Treating asymmetry surgically will lead to a new and often unnatural asymmetry. If you had liposuction on only one side when you're fat layer would be thinner on that side. This asymmetry with my opinion to be very unnatural and probably look unnatural. Faces are also highly asymmetric. Your thin and there's no way you would lose 2 to 3 inches from liposuction even if done aggressively. I don't think you have enough fat for a successful BBL. You have a very attractive body and I would highly recommend considering no treatment at all. Waist training may be a real option for you. In order for waist training to work it needs to be done under a substantial amount of pressure for long periods of time. You may find a handful of plastic surgeons who believe surgical intervention is indicated. "When you're a hammer the world looks like a nail" The analogy can sometimes be true for certain surgeons as well. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
