Would you recommend liposuction through Groupon with a board certified surgeon through American Board of Medical Specialties?

this is one of the worst things a surgeon can do. if they are desperate for cases, this is likely the case they are doing this. I would never compromise my care for price or distance.  make a smart informed decision and go to the best person, the most experienced, and someone who is dedicated to good work not who is dedicated to getting a lot of patients in the door.  Best, Dr. Emer.

To become board certified in plastic surgery you must complete a plastic surgical residency and pass rigorous written and oral exams.I personally trained for 7 years in just plastic surgery.And I sit on many committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons including patient safety.Anyone else who is not a plastic surgeon tends to take weekend courses.Please review many articles on "botched" procedures and even more recent lawsuits Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz

You should ask which board within the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).  There is only one of the 24 who certify plastic surgeons, the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Dermatologists can be certified by the ABMS and some can perform liposuction very well.  The next question you need to ask is why this doctor is offering liposuction on Groupon.
