Kenalog injection for hypertrophic scar after facial fat transfer, how soon do I have to wait between?

I have a hypertrophic scar on my face. I had 2 treatment of kenalog and v beam lasers and was seeing improvement. the kenalog really made my scar flatten down. 2 weeks ago I had face fat transfer and dr suggested put a little Nanofat/prp into the raised scar as well coz it helps the texture in long run. My question is how soon after this can I have kenalog/laser again, I don’t want to interrupt the Nanofat but I also want it to be as flat as possible asap so it can be covered by makeup.

Hi Long recovering,Great to hear of the improvement you're having to the hypertrophic scar.  Kenalog is excellent for this.  V beam is mainly for pigmentation, so I doubt that will affect the 'take' of the fat/prp injected into the scar.  But kenalog injected into the same area/depth as the fat may affect how much fat survives.You'll want to ask your surgeon if the fat is being injected into the same depth as where the kenalog is being injected.  If so, you'll want to wait at least six weeks and perhaps several months before the kenalog injection.  If the fat is being inserted deep to the scar, and the kenalog is injected into the scar itself, than you likely don't need to wait as long.But ask these questions of the person(s) doing your procedures!Best wishes,Dr. Jay
