Hi, i want to get a rhinoplasty done and i want to know the type of procedure u need to remove a dent on the bridge of my nose (right between my eyes) i feel like it sinks in too much and id like it to go straight down or have a slight curve unlike the exxagerated one i have right now. Do i need a radix implant? Do i need open or closed rhinoplasty? Also, im not interested in monthly fillers or anything like that... so im not considering that an option for me. Thank you!
Answer: Rhinoplasty for the low radix and bulbous tip etc. Rhinoplasty for the low radix and bulbous tip etc. you can have a more attractive and feminine nose with a radix graft, refinement of your bulbous tip, slight cartilage removal of your bridge etc. This can be done with a closed approach. See a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural noses like yours. Do not rely on imaging but rather actual results.

Answer: Fillers Fillers are a good non surgical option and it would be good option for you. Surgery and implants are a good option but risky compared to fillers. Good luck Andre Aboolian, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Augmenting the bridge of the nose Hello Jaygue626,If you are just interested in a radix implant, then there are a multitude of options out there. Autologous material (from your own body) such as temporalis fascia and/or cartilage (rib / ear) can be utilized to great effect to augment the dorsum. If you just want the small dent augmented and not the rest of the bridge of the nose, then it may be possible to use temporalis fascia alone. If you want more augmentation down the bridge of the nose, then I would go with a rib cartilage graft. I also think that an implant could be used as well. There are multiple pros and cons between using autologous and alloplastic (implant) materials and this has been covered a lot in this forum. If not tip changes are sought, it would be straightforward to perform augmentation through an endonasal approach (not open). The key for you know is to find a surgeon that performs quite a bit of asian or ethnic rhinoplasty who can assess what will work for your needs. Good luck!Michael M. Kim, MD

Answer: Radix augmentation Thank you for your photo. I generally prefer using a patient's own tissue (Cartilage and fascia) over an implant to augment a nose. The results are long-lasting as your body incorporates the tissue and there is a lower risk of infection. This can be done with a c losed rhinoplasty. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine which treatment you are a best candidate for. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery

Answer: Rhinoplasty candidate for radix graft Rhinoplasty candidate for radix graftplacement is for patients who have a shallow glabella. There are many different types of grafting materials that can be used there including the patients own cartilage. This can be performed with a closed rhinoplasty approach, with all of the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. For more information and many examples of rhinoplasty, please see the link and the video below
