I have no self confidence because of my eyes. I also feel tired & lazy because my eyelids are heavy. Is cosmetic orbital decompression safe? Would the surgery be less complicated since I do not have graves' nor thyroid disease? & how much is the total cost of the surgery? Thank you

For that reason, your proposed treatment is not right.  You do have slightly more prominent that normal eyes.  You also exhibit early anterior levator dehiscence ptosis.  There is a compensatory brow elevation.  This brow lift that is being done with your frontalis muscle makes the sub-brow area look hollow and effectively skeletonized your eyes contributing to the bug eyed look.  Orbital decompression is a helpful tool when needed but it inherently lacks the finesse of other types of surgeries.  By correcting the ptosis, one often sees a relaxation in the brow elevation which will immediately make the upper eyelid sulcus look less hollow and the eyes less prominent. I recommend that you get more than one opinion from very experienced oculoplastic surgeons before deciding what makes sense for you.

Cosmetic orbital decompression is designed to make eyes less bulgy appearing. It is usually less intensive than orbital decompression needed for Graves disease patients, and thereby safer.  Sometimes it is combined with filling around the eyes with fat or filler since hollowness around the eyes can make the eyes more bulgy appearing too.  It is best to see an oculoplastic surgeon for evaluation. See link below.
