Retired Dr. Flower's eye surgery technique appears to provide a natural looking, almond shape appearance. Dr. Ceydeli in Panama City trained under him but I would like more feedback from cosmetic eye specialists about this technique. Any negatives? Many thanks for you feedback on the technique, Dr. Ceydeli & other eye specialist recommendations especially in Florida area.
Answer: Dr. Flowers Technique Asking for a specific technique or brand of eyelid surgery is, in my opinion, the wrong way to approach this issue. Deciding upon surgery depends first upon making sure that you have indications for an eyelid procedure. There is no one technique that is applicable to everyone. As I pointed out in your previous question, Florida has a plethora of very qualified eyelid Surgeons.

Answer: Natural Technique for Eyelid Surgery Many thanks for your question. Most oculoplastic surgeon know how to create a natural looking appearance when they perform blepharoplasty. There is no unique technique which gives this result. A good surgeon is also a good artist and knows how to correct the problem without giving an artificial result. Take a look at several websites and see the photo galleries to determine who has the most pleasing post op photos to you. Good luck.

Answer: Doctors trained in Dr. Flowers eyelid surgery Dr. Bob Flowers is retired here in Birmingham, Alabama where several of his family members reside. He is a personal friend and we have spent many hours discussing his techniques and how some of our concepts are very similar resulting in my own technique of lateral access recontouring published in PRS October 2013. He is a true genius. However, I do not recommend you come to me or any other surgeon "trained by Dr. Flowers". Why? That is because we frequently see patients who are able to access all this data who identify a "procedure" they think is best for them and then they try to fit a surgeon to the procedure. That is completely backwards. The best way for you to find excellent results is to find an excellent surgeon. Let me give you an example. A number of years ago the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recognized there were various facelift techniques that seemed to be very different in their approach and they thought it would be a good idea to hold a contest to see which one really resulted in the best outcome. The brought together the four leading surgeons in the nation that each had their own unique methods of facelifting ,all of which were drastically different. They recruited four idential twins for the patients ( two sets of twins) and the patients and the doctors all came to the national meeting before the procedures so all of us could see them and see the contest that was about to tak eplace. Then all the patients went to their respective surgeon assigned by the Society and had that particular procedure of facelifting. One year later all the surgeons and all the patients returned to the meeting and there was to be a vote of which result the members of the Society thought was best. The result was a dead heat. ALL the patients had great results yet they all had very different procedures to get there. The surgeons were surprised to say the least. They all thought their way was best. As it turns out, their individual artistic skill was what was most important. In addition the Flowers technique is one that requires a significant amount of time in recovery. Just before his retirement he did a family member of his who also lives here and she now has amazingly beautiful eyes. However, I had the opportunity to see her right after the procedure and I must admit I was concerned. It took at least 6 months for the final result to settle in, and in Alabama, that length of recovery would not be tolerated by the average patient. This has to do with the extent of the canthoplasty required for the Flowers technique which can look extreme in the beginning but relaxes over time. My recommendation to you is to find the best board certified plastic surgeon ( as was Dr. Flowers) who does a lot of cosmertic eye surgery, or a facial plastic surgeon , or an occuloplastic surgeon in your area and trust your eyes to them and let them choose the procedure. You have beautiful eyes already in your photo and you are not a complicated case. You right to be careful as it is eye surgery problems that usually result in an "operated look" after surgery more so than almost any other plastic surgical procedure but I am sure you will be fine in the right hands. In Florida , Dr. Fagien is well known there in Florida as are others. I wish you well in your search.

Answer: Natural Eyes Dear #1Preservation of a natural almond shape is critical. The most important point in protecting your natural appearance is to avoid cutting your muscle. There are many opinions out there in lower eyelids surgery. You should be very cautious in selecting your surgeon.Excuse me but why do you even want it? I dont see bulging fat of the lower eyelid in your photo? If the issue is just the roll of extra skin and muscle in your lower eyelid the issues are totally different.Thank you
