Hair Transplant or should I go with SMP? (photos)

Question

A few doctors have said I can do a FUE transplant while a few other doctors have said I'm not a good candidate due to the massive amounts of hair loss and SMP would probably fit better. Please advise.

it all depends on your goal. combo transplant and SMP is the best. SMP  by itself may not look at natural.

This is a difficult question to answer.  First of all, it would be helpful to know your age and the history of hair loss in the males of your family.  The younger you are and the more hair loss in your family, the less likely you are to benefit long term from FUE.  Secondly, it is important to know your goals.  The feasability of an FUE procedure will depend in part on how low of a hair line you want and the density you are looking for.

Hair transplant vs SMP decision should be made based on the quality of the donor hairs as well as goals and expectations of the procedure. It appears that your donor hair quality is actually good even though you wear your hair very short. It appears that you could extract 2500 grafts safely by FUE and transplant to the anterior hairline.

After looking at your pictures I would recommend using hair pigmentation, not hair transplantation.
You wil achieve that full 'shaven look' faster, cheaper, and totally naturally looking (look for a highly experienced hair pigmentation practitioner with many years of experience and a lot of example pictures.
Hair transplantation will never be able to match the existing hair density at your current hair length.Furthermore, FUE hair transplantation at this length would create tiny white dots in the donor area.You would be creating a new problem trying to solve another problem.

You are Norwood 6. The baldness area is large and the donor area is limited. I would recommend the combination of the FUE and The SMP. First step, the FUE hair transplant is advised: it is possible to extract 2500-3000 grafts to cover the recipient area. Then get the SMP.

You can do either or both. I wrote an article about the value of SMP with FUE in a prestigious medical journal (see web reference) which points out that SMP can easily supplement FUE to get the results you wish. These are personal choices, so if you can accept no hair and a shaved head for the rest of your life, go for SMP, but if it is hair you want, then go for the combined SMP and FUE
