I found a lot of attractive faces to have a more structured look with sharp angle from the ear down a straight jawline with a sharp angle to the chin Is filler a possible solution to change the shape of a round less angular jawline to a straighter squarer sharp jawline?

Volumizing fillers are routinely used these days to contour and shape a variety of areas on the face, including sharpening and squaring off the angle of the jawline--something usually requested by men to square off and masculinize the face (along with using volumizers to create a more prominent brow and a stronger chin). In my Upper East Side Manhattan office I prefer to use a combination of Radiesse and Voluma XC for this purpose. In my Israel satellite facility where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers and volumizers are available, I prefer a combination of Restylane SQ and Emervel Volume.Contouring procedures, as opposed to filling smile lines, are among the more advanced injection techniques that should be left only to experienced, expert injectors with years of experience and not to novice injectors. Make sure to seek consultation by a board certified aesthetic core physician.

Hello and thanks for your question. Without an in-person examination or at least a picture it's difficult to say what treatment options would be best for you. Non-surgically, fillers can help restore volume and shape to the jawline. This may require several syringes of product. Another option would be Ultherapy, which tightens the skin of the jaw line and can restore some definition that way. Fillers can be used to help shape jawline but without a photo it would be hard to give you specific advice. One thing to consider that has not been mentioned is that if your cheeks are bottom heavy because of large masseters(chewing muscles), this part of your face can be changed using Botox/Dysport/Xeomin which can change a rounded jawline to a straighter, slimmer one .

Your question is a common one because we deal with many patients who want a very natural facial reshaping.  To look more "chiseled" or "defined" and less round, you have to address the cheekbones, cheeks, jawline, and neck all together.  There are relatively simple scar-less and natural surgeries that can be combined to accomplish this such a face/ jaw/neck liposclupitng; fat grafting or fillers; buccal lipectomy; chin implants if necessary.  We have had great success with these procedures (sometimes performed in the office). Fillers may help but they are not as permanent.  Best of luck!

Dear Asianguy529, to masculinize the jawline/ angle permanently I would use the implants via intraoral incision. For non surgical option I prefer a permanent filler or fat transfer with may give you a long lasting result.
