Does Facetite normally include micro-lipo of jowls and under chin?

I am considering Facetite for minor jowling and under chin fat. My concern is that Facetite will not deliver maximum results for fat removal. Is lipo normally included with Facetite or is Facetite a form of lipo itself?

Without photos to assess, it is difficult to make accurate recommendations for you. Facetite can be coupled with micro-liposuction but can also be applied alone. Facetite utilizes radiofrequency to tighten the skin, promote collagen development, and reduce fat. In comparison, liposuction is the lone removal of fat. Depending on your amount of submental fat, adding on micro-lipo may help achieve maximal results. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office assessments with board certified plastic surgeons to discuss your aesthetic goals and craft an individualized treatment plan.

For most patients who are good candidates for facetite, there is some jowling and fat under the chin.  After we do the radiofrequency treatments, we do some lipo to remove any melted fat, and also to sculpt the jowl and neck.

Thank you for your questions. Facetite is a technology that uses radiofrequency to shrink wrap the tissues. Because this uses heat, a small amount of fat is melted. If there is excess fat under the chin or in the jowls, it is removed with a tiny liposuction cannula during the procedure to give a crisp jawline and reduce jowls. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who can assess your specific anatomy. Each surgeon will approach FaceTite a little differently.  The best place to begin is a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.  Together you can discuss your concerns and the correct procedures can be recommended.  FaceTite works well to tighten the skin up to 40%.  Excess fat can be addressed based on patient goals.

Thank you for your question.  You should consider Facetite as an adjunct to liposuction. It is usually done with liposuction before, to loose the fat, and after, to remove the melted fat.  Hope this helps.

Hi Anna, Thank you for your question. Every surgeon goes about a procedure like this differently and the best answer to your question is that you should discuss this with a board certified plastic surgeon in person so they are able to evaluate you in real life so you can ask about their technique and whether they recommend jowl lipo for you in particular. Facetite is not "a form of lipo" itself- It does kill some fat cells, but those dead cells are flushed out of your body over a period of time by your body's natural response. I find that lipo is somewhat more aggressive and you are able to know for sure what cells have been targeted and what is left- in terms of fat reduction alone lipo is more precise than FaceTite. However most people desire the skin tightening effects of FaceTite in addition to fat reduction from lipo. I almost always perform lipo in addition to facetite and I often do treat the jowl area with lipo in addition to the submental or "under chin" area. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in person to further discuss these topics. Good luck!

Hello, and thank you for your question! 
FaceTite provides a dramatic improvement in skin laxity on the face and neck, which was previously only attainable through a surgical procedure, such as a facelift. FaceTite utilizes minimally invasive radiofrequency energy to melt fat and tighten skin. Any areas on the face and neck with saggy skin can be treated. This includes the double chin, jowls, and other areas with deep lines and loose skin.
Surgical liposuction is not the same as facetite, and would be a separate procedure that would require more downtime and more scarring, however, best results may be seen with a combination of both surgical liposuction and non-surgical facetite. If I were you, I'd try facetite first, and if you are not happy with the results after one year or so, then talk to your physician about surgical liposuction.
