Ultherapy is a non-surgical procedure to stimulate collagen production, lift, tone, and tighten tissue. Each individual stimulates and breaks down collagen at different rates. We often combine the treatment with other collagen stimulating treatments such as lasers, microneedling, Sculptra, etc. Oral collagen products are not going to have much of an effect on results. Hope this helps.
Your skin produces new collagen and elastin in response to the heat from Ultherapy treatments. Drinking or eating collagen products afterward isn’t necessary and wouldn’t affect your results either way. The amount of collagen that your body actually absorbs through collagen drinks and other collagen products appears to be minimal and wouldn’t cause hyperplasia. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at tightening skin with Ultherapy.

Ultherapy works via two mechanisms.Immediate tissue tightening occurs by contraction of the dermis and fascia.Six + months of collagen production via stimulation of our fibroblast cells. It is not common for someone to be protein deficient so most people will have a satisfactory collagen production, but some people are deficient in dietary protein consumption or have digestive abnormalities preventing them from processing the foods they eat well and in these cases there may be less of beneficial result from Ultherapy theoretically. Another possibility of a dietary cause for a lack of successfulness from Ultherapy is vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C is a required item needed for protein synthesis in our bodies. Scurvy is rare these days but it does exist. If you think your diet is deficient in protein or vitamin C, then speak with your physician or see a nutritionist to explore this possibility.
