Can dermal fillers be placed in the nose to make nostrils appear smaller? Why or why not?
Answer: A permanent non-surgical nose job may be considered for lowering retracted nostril margins. If you're concern is that your nostrils have risen to high after rhinoplasty surgery, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections maybe considered for adding a small amount of volume to the nostril margins, which may result in lowering, and less nostril show. For a more definitive answer to your question, please consider re-asking it with photographs. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Non Surgical Nose Job for Large Nostrils? Hi and thanks for your question. A Non Surgical Nose Job procedure will not reduce the size of your nostrils, although a bit of Botox into the area will reduce how much they flare out, making them less prominent. Fillers can only add, they cannot take away tissue. The only exception to this is if you have a very under developed bridge. In these situations, lifting the bridge brings the nose into better proportion, de-emphasizing the tip and nostrils and making them appear smaller. It is an illusion, but it is effective. Hope that helps.

Answer: Fillers to shrink nostrils BrittE92, Thank you for your question. This is a common issue in our practice. The short answer is yes, fillers may be used to make the nostrils appear smaller. At times it is used in conjunction with Botox which can also "shrink" the nostrils. As there are different variables, it would be best for you to have an in person consult to better evaluate your issue. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day. Best, Robert H. Cohen, M.D.

Answer: Nostril filler The nostrils are very thin soft structures of the nose. Fillers add volume and will not make things smaller. Therefore, placing filler within the tissue may result in a thick appearning nostril, contour abnormalities, or permanent injury to the tissue. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine the most effective and SAFEST treatment option to achieve your goals. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery@Drjohnsonlee

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Pictures and an in-office visit would be required to accurately answer you question. Given that, you seem to be asking if putting fillers in the soft tissues around the nasal opening would help to make your nostrils smaller. This is unlikely. There are a few things that can be done with fillers to make the nostrils smaller but typically a revision rhinoplasty will be needed. Often, to narrow the nostrils, this is a procedure that can be simply done in the office under local anesthesia. Consult with a board-certified expert. Best wishes.
