In general, yes intramuscular buttock implants can be placed even after injection with fillers such as silicone liquid and PMMA. An in person consultation with physical exam will first be necessary to evaluate the quality of your tissue, rule out any active problems, and determine what size and shape implant is most appropriate or even possible. Glad to help.
Thank you for your question about buttock augmentation with buttock implant after PMMA injections. Buttock PMMA removal and subsequent buttock reconstruction is a large portion of my plastic surgery practice. First, the PMMA needs to be removed surgically. Then, about 4 to 6 months later, the buttocks can be reconstructed with FDA approved, semi-solid silicone buttock implants. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding buttock augmentation with buttock implant after PMMA injections. I specialize in buttock implant insertion after PMA removal. If you have any more questions regarding buttock implants, buttock implant surgery, buttock implant insertion, or buttock implant revision, please contact my office. Since buttock implant surgery is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience buttock implant insertion. Do your research. If you cannot find an experienced, buttock implant plastic surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. I have and continue to perform an enormous number of silicone and biopolymer removals for patients from all over the globe. Patients frequently have the foreign material injected to improve buttock and hip proportions, but silicone, PMMA, and hydrogel can be and have been injected almost anywhere. The procedure only removes the foreign material and not your own tissues. This reduces the denting and deformity. After you have healed from the PMMA removal, you would have to be evaluated for butt implants.
Assuming the pmma is not causing active infections and has been stable yes you can have surgery. You are and always will be at an increased risk for infection though due to the pmma injections.Best
yes you can but keep min mind this is not an easy task. Be sure to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in this procedure and is recognized in the medical community for their work.
