I just had my regular Botox injections and one of the injections on the forehead must have hit a small blood vessel or something because within half an hour, there was a noticeable bump there with only slight discolor. I iced it and it has already gotten better, but it got me thinking: Is that particular injection wasted due to the swelling, or will the Botox still get to the right place and do its job? tia

Answer: Botox is still effective You are correct in that the injector probably hit a small blood vessel. This does happen on occasion but usually if the injector is careful and can visually see the vessel, they can avoid it. It does not interfere with the effectiveness of the botox in that area. Applying gentle pressure with ice afterwards can minimize the swelling and the bruise. Thank you for your question!

Answer: Botox Your botox will still work. Any time you use a needle to inject something into the skin there is a chance of bruising. Typically our botox needles are so tiny that many people receive injections without experiencing bruising. Do not worry though- your botox will work!
