 Generally the loss of nipple sensation has very little to do with any of the incisions used. The loss of nipple sensation house to do with how big of a pocket is created under the breast and how big your implant is placed in. Generally the smaller the Implant, the lower the risk of sensation loss

Dear chhal,Numbness and loss of sensation after breast augmentation is not uncommon. It depends on the operation but often times sensation can return in a couple of weeks, a year, or not at all.  Nipple sensation itself is very important and can sometimes be lost with breast surgery. Any time there is surgery on the breasts there is a chance that sensitivity can be impacted. The risk is low for an areola reduction. A breast augmentation can also impact sensation. I encourage you to discuss the risks and benefits of these procedures with your surgeon so you can make an informed decision.
