How much is TOO much after tummy tuck? Can I damage results?

I generally ask my patients to refrain from any activity for 2 weeks.  I basically tell them that it is a vacation for them for the next 2 weeks so they can recover without any complicatons.  After the 2 week period, my patients are allowed to resume their daily activity as far as going back to work, but they are instructed to still take it easy.  Once they are 6 weeks out, I allow them to resume full activity without restrictions, that includes working out.Hope that helps.

Dear  Bellaanna3,Recovery time is approximately 2 weeks. Vigorous activities should be limited for at least six weeks. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

If you have experienced discomfort then this is a sign that you are doing too much. It is unlikely you will have damaged anything but best to see your PS for reassurance.
