Laser hair removal causing bleeding/spotting. Could it be the change in frequency?

When I had my first session of laser hair removal done for my Brazilian area, the following day I had a little bit of bleeding/spotting. After the second session I had nothing. I had my third session done yesterday and today I have bleeding/spotting once again (also there's a brown discharge). It can't be my period because I shouldn't be getting my period for another 15 days. Is the laser hair removal causing this? Yesterday, she changed the frequency...could that be it?

Thanks for your question and sorry for the problem – but this is not from the laser hair removal procedure and I would recommend that you have a consultation with your GYN doctor to see what is going on.  Laser hair removal is not the cause.

The lasers used for laser hair removal do not penetrate below the skin so therefore, it should not be able to affect internal organs or cause alterations in your menstrual cycle.  You did not mention your age or how far apart these treatments have been so it is impossible to guess what could be causing your irregularity.  If you are having significant changes in your cycle and/or breakthrough bleeding, it is time to visit your Gynecologist for evaluation.
