Answer: Laser Hair Removal Thank you for your question in regards to laser hair removal. It is not recommended to continue laser hair removal treatments while pregnant or breast feeding. Laser hair removal should not have any effect on the possibility of becoming pregnant though. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps!

Answer: Laser Hair Removal and Pregnancy Thank you for your question. It is not recommended to perform laser hair removal on pregnant women or women who are planning to get pregnant. This treatment usually takes 6-10 sessions and has to be followed properly. Getting pregnant will make you stop the treatment and you will have to follow up with pregnancy treatments, which will basically result into waste of time and money. I recommend you to wait until you know you are not pregnant and then you consult an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you. All the best!

Answer: Laser hair removal and pregnancy Laser hair removal is not something I would do in a patient that I know is pregnant. It will not affect your ability to get pregnant. The laser does not penetrate below the skin so it should not cause a problem in somebody that does not know that she is pregnant. If you suspect that you are pregnant, waiting for a confirmation may be the best option. Good Luck! Dr. D.

Answer: Laser Hair Removal Won't Affect Ability to Get Pregnant While we would not perform laser hair removal or any other laser procedure on a patient who is pregnant, laser hair removal on someone who is not should not have any effect whatsoever on the possibility of becoming pregnant. That being said, we would be very hesitant to perform this procedure on someone trying to get pregnant based on the off chance that they were pregnant and did not realize. It is also important to mention that laser hair removal takes many sessions - typically 5-7 to reduce hair to the point where you will only need occasional maintenance treatments and these treatments have to be spaced out properly. Overall this will take time and is probably not worth the money for someone trying to get pregnant as pregnancy will require you to stop treatments. It would be better to wait until you have no potential restrictions and have at least 6 months to dedicate to the overall process.

Answer: Does laser hair removal affect pregnancy? The likelihood that LHR affects your pregnancy is extremely low. However there have been no studies to test this and there will never be any studies. The laser only goes a millimeter or 2 into the skin and it effects are limited to the skin. I don't do lasers on pregnant patients.
