Can you continue using ivermectin/soolantra cream (for Rosacea) while taking Accutane?

The combination of Soolantra and Accutane has not been study, so we can never say for sure it is safe.  That being said, I don't think you would have a major problem if your skin tolerates Soolantra well.  However, Accutane usually works very well for rosacea too, so you may not even need the Soolantra!  I would speak with your dermatologist and follow their advice while they are taking care of you.  

The combination of these 2 medications, Soolantra (ivermectin cream) and Accutane, has not been studied however there is no contraindication that I can think of, and therefore in all likelihood safe. It is best that you speak to your dermatologist about the risks and benefits of combining these 2 medications. Often, Accutane causes significant dryness on the skin and I counsel patients to be very careful about what they allow to contact their skin. Only the gentlest products will do. Soolantra tends to be well tolerated, due to its formulation, therefore that chance of irritation is low. One final point of interest is that Accutane is also used as a rosacea treatment, so this is great news.
