How long does it take for transplanted eyebrow grafts to set? 1 week post-op.

Question

Some crusties have been falling off when I wash the recipient area but sometimes there is a hair attached to it. I don’t think it’s a graft because it’s very small and there is no bleeding but if I instead pulled out a graft— I am about a week post op.

Patients may resume normal hair care of the eyebrows at 6 days after the procedure, and are encouraged to gently rub off the crusts that remain after 8 days.

I instruct my patients to resume normal hair care of the eyebrows after a week (7 days) after the procedure, and are encouraged to gently rub off the crusts that remain after 8 days with mild baby shampoo. After 7 days the crusts will start to fall off on their own. After day 10 you can wash them all off. It is expected that you will lose some transplanted hairs in the first few weeks after a transplant. New hairs will start to grow at 3-4 months and it will take a full year to see final results.
