It can take several weeks for the initial swelling to occur, then months for it to subside. Swelling in the tip generally takes the longest to subside, and it's generally this that is causing the hardness you're feeling. Please wait a few months before evaluating your results. Best of luck!
You can have a very small difference, but it sounds like you have more than that. See your surgeon and if you are not satisfied with his answer, see an experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon for another opinion.
This occurs when silicone implants are used, especially when the skin is thin. This should go away in 6-12 months. If not, you should see a revision rhinoplasty expert who can do the same thing with your own cartilage and you won't have this problem.
