Is it possible to avoid seromas without using drains for this simple procedure? Does the surgeon need to use a special technique to prevent seromas? What is the likelihood of a seroma forming if drains are not used?
I had my implants removed and breast lift revised last Friday (today is wednesday) I still have my drains in and am wrapped in an ace bandage. I go to get my drains out tomorrow but I'm wondering how long I'll have to wear this bandage or will I be switched to a front closing cotton bra like the one I wore after my augmentation with lift?
Over 3 months ago i had my small over the muscle silicone implants removed.. was fine a couple weeks then they blew up larger than when i had implants and were hard and painful.. i now have to go every week or 2 and get drained. I wear a tight compression bra or bandage almost constantly to keep it from re-swelling.. my dr has never dealt with this and i don't want to be damaging anything if this is something i will need surgery again for.. help!? Any advice or just more time and detoxing?! Thanks
My drains were removed 5 days ago, as they were collecting very little fluid. However, the area near the site where the drain was is a little puffy and I'm wondering if it could be trapped fluid. What happens to residual fluid after the drains are out?
Im scheduled for a textured implant removal (subglandular) d/t pain and suffering. During initial consult we discussed having drains and binder, no options provided for a capsulectomy. After further research it suggests that a capsulectomy is advised; however its more invasive, longer surgery time, and cost more. Would you perform a capsulectomy or not?
I was shaking & cold this was followed by serve pain in my mid back & chest I had my BA silicone 425cc mentor dual plane placed 3 weeks.A&E say my blood is consistent with infection. I had drains fitted & a small hole been leaking yellow fluid very small amount since the op.they said it didnt show signs of infection. The right breast is slightly swollen & warmer I had antibiotics post op for 5 days. Its hard to breath deeply I have no bruising & the scar isnt particularly red.
Had explant surgery and doctor recommended capsule be left in, so I did. No drains with that surgery. After two months I'm having blood building up, have had it aspirated twice removing about 100 cc's each time. Then a drain was put in for almost two weeks. It's been removed and is still filling up, but more slowly. I am worried about infxn, doctor says no, instead he's saying I have capsulitis. I can't find anything about this when I google it. What are odds this will resolve by itself?
I am presently on my second aspiration after Subpectoral Explantation WITHOUT CAPSULECTOMY. The capsules filled up with a serous fluid that was aspirated by an interventional radiologist after almost 4 months postop. The seromas refilled and this time, the radiologist placed Argon Skater Drains. The plan is to leave these in place for two months as long as no signs of infection occur. If this does not work, should I have a Total Capsulectomy, or would a partial be OK. BII is a concern.
Im having a total capsulectomy and bilateral implant removal done next week. My friend told me her drains collected fluid, blood and tissue when she had hers removed. I was wondering what the leftover tissue is that the drain removes? She described it as white, thin and stringy. Is it left over from the capsule? Confused because she got a total capsulectomy and her surgeon confirmed he was able to remove it all.
