If you are a poor scar former, wait until the liposuction scars are completely faded before tanning after Brazilian buttlift. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
I don't think there is any evidence that tannign itself will injure the transplanted fat after a BBL. The skin may be slighlty numb and more sensitive to UV rays, so this may make the area more prone to burning. I agree that waiting several months is best. Besides, tanning beds are terrible for you and should be avoided. Try spray tanning instead.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.I recommend my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before tanning. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
After any surgery the skin is more sensitive to any trauma including tanning salons. After surgery and complete healing I would wait ayleast 6 months before going to tanning salons
First of all, I don't recommend tanning beds. But if you must...wait at least 3-6 months. Your skin will be more sensitive to UV radiation during the first 3-6 months after surgery. UV radiation to the scars should be avoided for 12-18 months, to prevent dark scars.

Some of the transferred fat will die after a Brazilian Butt Lift. This amount of fat loss will vary by technique and surgeon. I tell my patients to expect to lose about 30% of the fat over the first 3 months. Some docs say that they lose 50% of the fat, which in my opinion is way too much fat...
Although this question is impossible to answer without an exam or pictures, the discoloration, if the result of bruising and pigmentation changes, will usually resolve over about a year. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
