I am 3 weeks post-op from my BBL and I have not sat on my butt once. I stand 85-90% of the day or sit on a specific bbl pillow if I absolutely have to sit. I also sleep on my stomach 100% of time. Today I sat without the pillow on a chair for approx. 30 mins straight. Will this compromise my results? Also, is it too late to add PRP to the buttocks to help the fat survive at this point?
Answer: Sitting 3 weeks after BBL - Will this compromise my results? Thanks for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures.I tell my patients that they can sit right after the surgery. With Brazilian butt lift we transfer fat from one area of the body to the other. These fat cells are transferred in microinjections throughout multiple planes in the buttock tissue so that they can gain new blood supply and live in their new home, providing increased volume and shape to the buttocks. Postoperatively, no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions. The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed.

Answer: Sitting post BBL Thank you for your question! For my patients having a BBL procedure, I recommend they stay completely off of their buttocks for the first 10 days post op, then they can start sitting using the BBL pillow for the following 3 weeks. At 6 weeks post op, there are no sitting restrictions. I recommend only sitting with the BBL pillow since you are only 3 weeks post op. I also recommend discussing specific questions or concerns with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Answer: Sitting 3 weeks after BBL - Will this compromise my results? In my practice PRP is indispensable in accelerating wound healing, but we have not added it to the fat grafts. I am not sure about PRP and the literature supporting fat grafting improvement. I will say that I perform hundreds of BBLs each year, and the results are very significant without the PRP. I think that you are likely correct about the lack of benefits of PRP at this point.Sitting for approximately 30 minutes straight three weeks after a BBL is unlikely to compromise your results.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Sitting 3 weeks after BBL - Will this compromise my results? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks. At week 3, sitting for longer periods should not damage your results. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
