Unfortunately you have a problem of excess skin which would get worse if you had liposuction alone. At this point, you will need a neck lift in order to achieve desirable results. The skin is tightened and removed from behind the ears. Good luck
Based on your photos, I do not think that you are a good candidate for chin liposuction alone. You appear to have a significant amount of loose skin, liposuction of this area will only exacerbate this situation, likely leaving you with a subpar result. I think that you will need a neck lift to fully address this area. A neck lift will excise any excess skin, giving your neck a smoother and more youthful appearance. I recommend reopening this conversation with your surgeon to discuss your options; and if necessary, possibly seek a second opinion. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question! Based on just the picture, you might be a good candidate for liposuction of the neck with a tightening treatment at the same time. We have several options for tightening in our office such as J Plasma and FaceTite. The liposuction/tightening will not give you as good a result as a neck lift but will still help to make a substantial improvement in the area. I recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon in person to discuss your options and expectations to get the perfect treatment for you.
I would not recommend only liposuction; you will also need something to address the skin.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
It appears to me that you have some fullness under your chin from fat but also some laxity of the skin. Liposuction of the neck could help to reduce the fullness, but it will not tighten the skin. Alternatives would be a face lift, which would tighten the lower face and neck or FaceTite, which is a radio frequency treatment to tighten the lower face and neck. Normally, there is some retraction of skin after liposuction, but as people age, the elasticity of the skin is reduced and the skin does not retract as much.
It is a fact that Liposuction of the Chin/ Neck can "bruise" the branch of the nerve that lowers the lip when you smile. In my experience this always recovers on its own. Having said that, you should see your surgeon again to discuss in detail, or seen an opinion from another board certified p...
You do have a witches chin. At the same time the actual size of your mandible is small and I'm guessing you have a slight overbite. The forward projection of your mandible is weak where the teeth are but at the same time it's very pointed. This is a fairly complicated situation. A small...
I appreciate your question. Six days is fairly quick after liposuction to attend a major social event. There is no guarantee that your swelling will be gone entirely by then. As far as makeup, some physicians will give you the go-ahead to apply makeup soon after treatment while others might want...
