Answer: Improving acne scars with lasers, microneedling/prp, TCA cross, subcision, fillers, Cosmelan These look like atrophic scarring. A combination approach will give the most improvement. These types of scars need a combination of subcision with Cosmelan, lasers, microneedling/prp, TCA cross, and fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Answer: Subcision and filler Acne scars are treated differently depending on their appearance and structure. It appears that you have atrophic scars where there was injury to the dermis of the skin and the skin became depressed in certain areas. These deeper scars can be released and filled in with subcision and a filler such as Bellafill which is specifically designed for divets and depressions left by acne. The very thin or deep ice-pick scars are best treated by excising them completely. Not everyone is a candidate for all the treatment options however as certain skin types can get worse from certain treatments. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee MD Plastic Surgery @drjohnsonlee

Answer: Saucer scars, pox scars- treatment options To a limited degree subcision can work, but you do have atrophic scars. Subscision only breaks the bonds that hold this scar down, but you have loss of connective tissue, including collagen elastin and other scaffolding. Ideally I combine this with dermal fillers. If subcision alone was used- 3 sessions may give you 20-30% improvement. You can dermal graft the area, pros and cons in the web reference, you can try PRP, you can use autologous blood, even saline -off all these methods filler provide the most reliable method. You do need to subcise WITH filler or 'donut effect' will happen- filler goes to areas of least resistance - namely around your scar. See a Plastic or Dermatologist near you for a full examination including palpation to determine the amount of fibrosis. Wish you well. Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane Australia. Acne Scar Specialist.
