I need to know if anyone can help me. I been covering it with my hair and I feel ugly with it
Answer: Hypertrophic scar Dear ashatae, you might need a scar revision surgery. Scarring can be minimized with a number of techniques including meticulous closure, nonuse of absorbable sutures, 6 weeks of taping followed by silicone scar therapy. I often recommend a product called biocorneum to prevent hypertrophic scars. It would be the best to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Answer: Scar revision for a "trapped door" scar deformity. Scar revision for a "trapped door" scar deformity. you need to have this excised and corrected with total excision of the scar and leveling of the trap door. Definitely do not have steroids injected into this as it will dissolve the fat that it's necessary to maintain A level surface. See a very experienced surgeon for this.

Answer: Treatment options for old accident scars, raised scars Hello,It would appear that your scar is very raised. The first treatment option would be to flatten or debulk the scar by using injections of steroid. Once this is achieved, you may decide if there still needs to be more cosmetic improvement using a laser option. However, it would be much more cost effective and effective to address the height of the scar first, and steroid injections is the least expense in starting a treatment plan. The below link will offer more information and photos. Feel free to contact us directly for additional information as we are close to your location.

Answer: Old scar Thank you for your photos. It appears that you have two issues - a thick elevated area of scar AND a dark and prominent laceration edge. Non-surgical options include microneedling with or without PRP, fractionated laser, and radiofrequency to flatten the dark line at the edge of the injury. The bulk of the scar can be reduced first non-surgically with direct steroid injections which will likely take several quick sessions over a few months to have it slowly flatten. Surgical revision to reduce the scar tissue and realign the scar is also an option. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps!!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery
