Dear patient from GA I reviewed other physician’s answers. Their answer is regarding Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) which is very unlikely after neck lift surgery, if you’re ambulating. Many of my patients ask this question as well. I believe your question is what are the chances of bleeding and clot formation after neck lift surgery. The first post operative week is crucial to have enough rest and stay away from heavy lifting, bending, and exercise. I hope this is was helpful.
First - if a neck lift is done under local with IV Sedation - the risks should be extremely low. You should be up and around the next day and early ambulation is the key. If you can avoid General Anesthesia - you reduce most of the risk of DVT.

This is probably a paresthesia-sensory feelings due to irritation of the nerve. It will probably go away, but you should be followed by your doctor.
I generally advise patients to sleep on their back with their head elevated at least 30 degrees (or as high as they can comfortably sleep) for 2 weeks after surgery. This helps to reduce swelling in the face and neck after surgery.
It is unlikely that the thickening is permanent. Some irregularities may persist. However, given the timing of your fluid collection, it is not at all unusual that you have thickening at this point in time. Give it at least another 6 weeks and continue massage if permitted by your surgeon.
