I was told to wait at least 1 month I wear jeans to avoid creasing? Also what garment are the most comfortable? The ones provided to me have the straps and those hurt more than my actual procedure.
Answer: Recovery It is best to follow the recommendation of your surgeon for post op care. Compression provides support to healing tissues and helps to manage swelling. Wearing jeans may be difficult for awhile after surgery due to swelling. Your surgeon is most familiar with the details of your surgery and how you've been progressing through recovery and is the best one to advise you.

Answer: Jeans After one month, you should be able to wear jeans. You might change your compression garment to one that is smooth and without hooks and zippers, like a Spanx. However, please check with your surgeon first.

Answer: How long after full lipo and mini tuck do I have to wait to wear jeans? What is the best garment to wear? Your plastic surgeon knows your postoperative course best and would be better able to advise you on this. However, if you have a stable result that has not changed in weeks, then wearing tight jeans is probably not going to disrupt anything or create a dent, other than a temporary one. I would ask your plastic surgeon about garments and the duration of wear, because each plastic surgeon will have a different protocol. The patients who tend to have healing issues with larger volume liposuction procedures tend to be the ones who do not wear the compression garments at all, wear them very inconsistently, or do not wear them snugly covering all areas of liposuction. Our office provides our TT/lipo patients with an adjustable compression garment manufactured by Clear Point. The patients like the support it provides to the back and to the abdomen. The only complaint I have heard is related to the "itchiness" of the fabric which can be remedied by wearing a soft t-shirt under the garment.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
