Hi and thank you for the question. I get asked this question a lot and my answer is 2 weeks. I see my patients 3 days after surgery and one week after that. I’d prefer to see my patients at least twice before they travel. It’s important not to carry anything heavy or pull luggage while traveling. I wish you the best and safe travels. Dr. Khuthaila
Dear Reserved460433,I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I had a patient who flew from Philadelphia to Utah, with her husband, the day after an augmentation/lift procedure- with no problems whatsoever; Not recommended and possible. That would be a decision that needs to be discussed with your surgeon ahead of time. It could be anywhere fromOne to two weeks
I applaud your concern and awareness! I usually ask my out of town patients to remain close to me for one to two weeks after surgery, depending on the procedure and distance to be traveled. Certain operations require closer monitoring for a longer period of time than others. I usually perform virtual consultation first and then, if the individual chooses me as their surgeon, I prefer to see them again the day before The planned surgical date.Breast lift surgery usually only requires a one week stay here in New York, as this allows me to see the patient one or two days after surgery and then again right before they return home. The three hour flight back to Florida is relatively short and reasonable. I use all absorbable sutures, so suture removal is not an issue. Come see me virtually, or another board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City to explore all options for your particular breast lift surgery. Best of luck!
Lots of great breast surgeons right here in sunny Florida. Find a local plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and save on the flight. I might know a couple I could recommend.Dallas Buchanan, MDVIVIFY plastic surgeryTampa, FL
There are excellent surgeons in Florida, so you do not have to fly to New York. There is an increased risk of blood clots and flying during the first month after surgery.
It really depends on your surgeon and the size of your breast lift. My first postop visit is 5-7 days. I do not use drains on traveling patients and all dissolving sutures. If everything is good at 7-10 days, they are allowed to fly home. Rarely does anyone need more than 10 days. Ask your surgeon for their requirements Best wishes,Dr. Taranow
Hello and greetings from Turkey. We welcomes many international patients in our clinic from the different countries all around the world. Our patients fly back to their countries after 1 week from the surgery. 1 week week be completely enough to recover to fly New York to Florida.
That is a little skin fold from the weight of your sagging breasts. You do need a lift, and may do better with a reduction. Your photos did not show your whole breast, so I cannot be certain.
Breast lift (mastopexy) procedures help shape the breasts with the goal of making them tighter, and perkier on the chest wall. While performing breast lift procedures another goal would be to create symmetry of breast size, shape as well as areola position, and size. Similar to breast reduction...
Your breasts are asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. If you want the larger breast to match the smaller...
