how to explain my dentist I prefer the veneers be the size and shape as my original teeth? Don't they have to look as temporary teeth that now placed look like my original teeth. I am doing the veneers to change the colour as old teeth were canal treated and dark. Please advise if the dentist is placing bigger veneers to hide dark teeth? Is there other means to elaborate so that darker teeth is not over showing the veneer at the same time the teeth do not lose translucency and look my original teeth size?
Answer: Shape, Size and Color of Veneers. If you like your original size and shape of teeth it is easy to duplicate if you still have a model of your original teeth. If the teeth were very dark it may require more reduction or a more opaque ingot of ceramic material. By definition no-prep veneers always have a size and shape change because you are adding material on top of existing tooth. The color of new teeth has numerous aspects, The Chroma is the actual color of the material but the value is the Whiteness of the restoration.Easy to understand in terms of paint, Add white paint to blue paint and you get whiter, brighter blue paint The color will remain blue.Opacicty versus translucency is how much light passes thru the veneer. Translucent is more attractive but opacity is added to cover dark teeth. Incisal traslucency can be added by the lab but again rquires reduction of teeth.Veneers are not always the best option for every patient.A Diagnostic Wax-up allows you to visualize in your mouth how you will look. If you don't like your temporaries based on size have them adjusted until you do because that is how shape of finals is determined.Ira L Shapira DDS, D,ABDSM, D,AAPM, FICCMOChair, Alliance of TMD OrganizationsDiplomat, American Academy of Pain ManagementDiplomat, American Board of Dental Sleep MedicineRegent & Fellow, International College of CranioMandibular OrthopedicsBoard Eligible, American Academy of CranioFacial PainDental Section Editor, Sleep & Health JournalMember, American Equilibration SocietyMember, Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences

Answer: #Veneers to match #DrSoftTouch Hello there,Veneers are made in all shapes, sizes and shades. If you would like your veneers more rounded rather than square for instance, it's important to tell your dentist this. A wax up is an important part of a smile design. This allows the patient to see how their case is going to look before anything is even done to their teeth. When it comes to patient expectations, the wax up helps both the patient and the dentist to achieve the desired results the first time around. Communicate with your dentist about your expectations and your concerns, and be sure you are happy with your veneers before having them permanently cemented. Good luck and I hope this helps.
